Thi s means you will have to edit the .reg file to your own needs. This is simple to do. If you have DFX installed and do not see any of the following DLL files installe d then you will need to do the following. 1. search your hard drive for all dfx files. Just run a search with df& #120; as the word. 2. A few folders and files should come up. One of them should be a .dll file wit h the name dfxxx.dll 3. xxx represents a letter and two numbers. For me it was dfx ;g16.dll 4. Now apply the patch to the new file you have discoverd. Just enter the file n ame of the dll and hit open while in the system/system32 folder. 5. Here is the tricky part. Apply the reg file and open your music player to see if it has been registerd. 6. If so great, if not then you will need to edit the .reg file to make it fit y our player. 7. Extract the .reg file and open it in notepad. I already fixed it to work with dfxg16.dll which is for winamp, but if you use a different p layer then here is what you do. Take the number in your .dll file name. it will be a two digit number like 16 or 14. Now in the reg file you will see commands like this : [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\DFX\16\REGISTRATION] 8. There will be many commands like that for different numbers. Now copy an enti re section of the code. (ex: all the commands dealing with DFX/xx ) 9. Now paste them at the bottem of the text, but above the comments. No w all you have to do is replace the current number (16/14....) with the one in your dll file. So if you file was called dfxg23.dll, your new commands would all have 23 instead of the old number in them. Now save the file and apply it to the registry. Please give full credit to the creator of this crack, I in no way helped create it. I simply found a way to get the patch to work in newer versions.
